Sustainability.
My take on sustainability is pretty straightforward: it’s not just about hugging trees (though many believe it has great benefits!). For me, it’s about striking a proper balance – fostering a thriving planet and nurturing the health and well-being of the awesome people who call it home. I really believe true progress comes from practices that lighten our ecological footprint while also boosting our physical, mental, and community health.
My work dives right into this vital connection through real, tangible action, showing that a balanced future is built on both a vibrant natural world and flourishing human lives. Keep reading to see how I put these ideas into practice, from helping create a huge new forest to hands-on conservation on my own patch of Welsh land.

The Heart of England Forest
The Heart of England Forest is an ambitious charity leading a vital mission: reversing centuries of woodland decline by creating and conserving a vast broadleaf forest for the benefit of the environment, wildlife, and people. Covering over 7,000 acres, with more than 2 million trees already planted, it stands as the largest new native broadleaf woodland in England – a monumental effort in carbon sequestration, water purification, and flood alleviation.
My involvement with this incredible project, through active participation in tree planting and conservation efforts, goes beyond environmental impact. It’s about contributing to a place of enduring natural beauty and diverse habitats that not only support wildlife but also significantly enhance human life and health.
Gardd Goch, Wales
A small pcoket of beautiful Welsh countryside, lovingly known as Gardd Goch (Welsh for ‘Red Garden’). This is where my commitment to holistic sustainability gets really hands-on, and it’s been a proper journey! Here, I’m actively working to cultivate a thriving ecosystem through all sorts of land management and conservation practices.
But honestly, it’s just as much about sustaining me – my health and well-being. Getting out there, tending the land, it brings immense physical and mental benefits. It’s a sanctuary for grounding, reflection, and truly connecting with nature – a vital kind of balance in life.
